The O-1 visa is for the best in your field or industry. It requires a showing of extraordinary ability from awards, distinguished memberships, publications, authorship, high remuneration, critical or essential capacity, and other factors.

The EB-1 is the Green Card path (permanent residence) for those with extraordinary ability. It has similar evidentiary criteria but they are held to a higher standard of excellence.
